The Heat Shrink process is what secures all of your catheter assemblies together. It protects it from external heat forces and secures the catheter shaft and uniform throughout. Skivers are individualized tools that can be used to peel away heat shrunk polymers from a variety of mandrel/tubing configurations once the catheter has reached the OD stage of production. Skivers enable operators to cut down on processing time and increase performance as tubing comes off the production line. These skivers can be individually customized to your specific needs including as small as 17/1000 to as large as 750/1000.
The The CT Bottlenose Skiver is a customized tool that cuts between the catheter tubing and applied heat shrink layers and separates them and remove the heat shrink material.
The CT Belly Skiver has a protruding blade that allows the blade to be customized at varying depths and fall in line with the extruded tubing being treated . It follows a specific grove or path already in place with the catheter assembly.
